Hello, I’m Rebecca, a writer and documentary filmmaker.

My book Inconceivable will be published in 2026 by 4th Estate in the UK and Harper in the US (HarperCollins).

I have filmed, produced and directed award-winning documentaries for BBC One, BBC Two, Channel 4 and online.

Won ‘Debut Director’ at the Edinburgh TV Festival’s New Voice Awards 2020

My Channel 4 film Britain’s Child Drug Runners received a 5-star review in The Guardian and BBC One film Beyond Reasonable Doubt, a 4-star review.

In 2016 I was selected as one of Edinburgh TV Festival’s ‘Ones to Watch’.

In 2014 and 2018 I won commissions at Sheffield Doc/Fest, they went on to become Self Harm & Me for BBC Radio 1 and The Mind Explorers: A Psychedelic Weekend for Real Stories / Amazon.

I’m a Mental Health First Aider and have volunteered for mental health charities such as CALM, Rethink Mental Illness and Nightline.

Writing

I’m a freelance writer with a background in immersive journalism and social justice. I have a particular personal interest and background in mental health, psychology, sexual violence, endometriosis and fertility.

(But I also enjoy writing about less serious topics too!)

I have written articles for Grazia, BBC News, HuffPost and Broadcast magazine.

Fun Facts

I grew up in rural Nottinghamshire, lived in London for 12 years and now reside in Leeds.

I’m a triplet, briefly made an appearance in Game of Thrones and led out the Bangladesh team in the 2012 Olympic Opening Ceremony.
